The study of public health has never been more important than in this century. Students who pursue this career learn firsthand the relationships between government and health care access, the treatment and prevention of diseases and the economics and ethics of health.

As a future Public Health major, you will focus on the design and implementation of health policy programs for the general population, those with mental health concerns, and the treatment of communicable diseases. Upon graduation, you will have learned about epidemiology, the principles of statistical inference, social and behavioral sciences, the U.S. healthcare systems and more.

With a bachelor’s degree in public health, you are prepared to apply to graduate school. Public Health graduates can pursue employment as public health engineers, industrial hygienists, state or federal environmentalists, environmental health emergency response specialists, non-governmental organization directors, and health communications specialists to name a few.
